The Belgian stock exchange opens at 9:00 local time and closes again at 17:30 local time. Between these hours you can freely trade the shares on the Belgian stock exchange. The stock exchange closes at the weekend.

Background information on the Belgian stock market
The BEL20 is the main index on Euronext Brussels. The twenty stocks within this index are chosen by Euronext experts based on various criteria. The Belgian index is a good gauge of the economic situation in Belgium. Companies included in the index are, for example, KBC and Umicore.
The BEL20 has the same trading hours as the regular stock market. This means that the stocks connected to the BEL20 can be traded from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. However, some brokers also allow trading in the BEL20 outside regular hours. The transaction fees can then be higher, since trading volumes are lower.
Shares on the Belgian stock market are traded in euros. Keep in mind that your investment may decrease in value when your currency becomes stronger in relation to the Belgian currency.
