The Australian stock exchange is open on weekdays. There is no time for lunch. As soon as the stock exchange opens, it remains open all day. But what are the exact opening hours of the Australian stock exchange?

  • The Australian stock exchange is open from 10:00 to 16:00 local time.
  • The Australian stock exchange is open from ##T|23:00## to ##T|5:00## in your time zone.

As you can see, the Australian stock exchange opens only for a short period every day. You only have six hours to invest in Australian shares.

  • 28 December – Boxing Day
  • 31 December – New Year (open from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)

2020

  • 1 January 2020 – New Year’s Day
  • 27 January 2020 – Australia Day
  • 10 April 2020 – Good Friday
  • 13 April 2020 – Easter Monday
  • 8 June 2020 – Queen’s birthday
  • 24 & 25 December 2020 – because of Christmas
  • 28 December 2020 – Boxing Day
  • 31 December 2020 – because of old age

On these days, therefore, it is absolutely not possible to invest in the Australian stock exchange.
