When is the Australian exchange open?

The Australian exchange is open on weekdays, without a lunch break. Once the exchange opens, it remains open for the whole day. But what are the exact trading hours of the Australian exchange?

  • The Australian stock exchange is open from 10:00 to 16:00 local time.
  • The Australian stock exchange is open from ##T|23:00## to ##T|5:00## in your time zone.

As you can see, the Australian stock exchange opens only for a short period every day. You only have six hours to invest in Australian shares.

What are the sessions in Australia?

At many brokers, you can also choose to invest outside regular hours in the Australian stock exchange. Below is an overview of the local times when you can invest outside opening hours:
