Nevertheless, the country is relatively prosperous, with a GDP of over USD 62 billion. You can therefore choose to trade on the Luxembourg stock exchange. What are the opening hours of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, and when will it be closed?

The Luxembourg Stock Exchange opens at 9:00 in the morning and closes again at 17:30 in the evening local time. On weekend days the stock exchange is closed like many other stock exchanges. Some brokers also allow you to trade in shares listed on the Luxembourg stock exchange outside regular opening hours. This is often more expensive due to the lower volume.

- 13 April – Easter
- 1 May – Labour Day
- 24-25 December – Christmas (on the 24th open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.)
- 31 December – New Year (open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
- 1 January 2020 – New Year’s Day
- 10 April 2020 – Good Friday
- 13 April 2020 – Easter Monday
- 1 May 2020 – Labour Day
- 25 December 2020 – Christmas
On the following days the stock exchange has different closing times. On those days you have to be careful with your orders:
- 24 December 2020 – Christmas from 9 to 14:00.
- 31 December 2020 – New Year from 9:00 to 14:00.
As you can see, the Luxembourg stock exchange rarely closes. It is one of the most accessible stock exchanges where you can invest on almost every day.
When was the LuxX Index opened?
The LuxX index is Luxembourg’s national index. This index consists of only ten shares, all of which are listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. Not every share has a heavy weight within the index. The smaller shares have a weight of less than one percent and therefore do not influence the index too much. Examples of shares within the index are Aperam and ArcelorMittal.
Before you start investing in the LuxX Index you, will of course want to know the opening hours. The LuxX Index is open from 9:00 to 17:30 local time, just like the stock exchange itself.
